This painting of lemons is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic project. Every day through the end of the April I'm going to paint & sell an original watercolor for $50 & at the end of the month, donate half the proceeds to a person or organization in particular need due to the current economic situation.

‘Lemons 2’ : Due to popular demand, I present you with a second lemon painting! I have a fear of running out of lemons. Really- I don’t hoard toilet paper, I hoard lemons. I think it began a few years ago when I realized that bland dishes could be saved by varying combinations of salt, butter, onions & lemon. You can transform just about any food into something decent, if not delectable, with that combo. Lately they’ve also appealed to me for another reason. I dream of going to the Amalfi coast someday. There are lots of lemon trees on the steep hills there overlooking the sea, just ready to be picked & squeezed over fresh fish or turned into limoncello. It sounds heavenly. . . but in the meantime (while we’re all stuck at home & definitely NOT allowed to go to Italy) enjoy this sunny little watercolor. I think it would be lovely in a kitchen.
