This painting of basil is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic project. Every day through the end of the April I'm going to paint & sell an original watercolor for $50 & at the end of the month, donate half the proceeds to a person or organization in particular need due to the current economic situation.

‘Basil’ : Joel loves favorites & is always asking what mine are; “rank your top 5 movies”, “what’s your favorite meal?”, “what’s your favorite whale?” (yes. . . it gets that specific). Picking favorites was a regular pastime for him & his brothers when they were kids so this curiosity is deeply engrained. I appreciate his interest in my preferences but I kind of hate these questions because I just can’t pick one most of the time! Why am I talking about this? Because sometimes I think basil is my favorite herb & then I remember how much I love rosemary. . . I can’t pick between the two— they are both my favorites. And I’ve decided that’s allowed;)
