Thyme

Thyme

$50.00

This painting of thyme is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic project. Every day through the end of the April I'm going to paint & sell an original watercolor for $50 & at the end of the month, donate half the proceeds to a person or organization in particular need due to the current economic situation.

‘Thyme’ : This little plant is my old faithful. I planted it the first spring we were in our house- less out of landscaping interest & more out of cooking interest - but it has grown & grown and become a significant feature of my front bed. In the meantime, I’ve completely overhauled everything else; removed a mass of lilies that were very out of proportion, dug up EVERY LAST BIT of liriope (I have a bit of a personal problem with that plant), planted shrubs, decided I didn’t like them, removed said shrubs, planted Cast Iron plants in their stead, etc. . . all the while, left alone, my little thyme has grown & spread & provided beauty & flavor to our lives. You’ll notice my Scarborough Fair theme continues; I’ve now covered sage, rosemary & thyme! The jury’s still out on parsley. . . thoughts?
