This painting of Strawberries is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic project. Every day through the end of the April I'm going to paint & sell an original watercolor for $50 & at the end of the month, donate half the proceeds to a person or organization in particular need due to the current economic situation.

‘Strawberries’ : I wish I could transfer to you the experience of painting these strawberries while smelling the actual strawberries I was using for reference. I can’t tell you how many times I got absorbed in my work & would catch my brain confusing the source of the smell. Yes, to put it plainly, I found myself thinking multiple times that the delicious smell was coming from my painting :)) I know other artists can relate; it’s not dissimilar to the way we constantly dip our paint brushes into our smoothies. If I could make this painting a scratch ‘n sniff, I would. . . well, except I really don’t recommend scratching your artwork. . . but in the alternate reality that was my painting process, that would have worked;)
