Sage
Sage
This painting of Sage is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic project. Every day through the end of the April I'm going to paint & sell an original watercolor for $50 & at the end of the month, donate half the proceeds to a person or organization in particular need due to the current economic situation.
‘Sage’ | “Are you going to Scarborough Fair? Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme. . . (I’ve covered 2 of the 4 so far:)”. In addition to the loveliness of the tune, I’ve always liked that song because it reminds me of childhood trips to the beach. There’s a quaint, boardwalk style shopping center within walking distance of the house where we stayed every summer called Scarborough Fair. It felt like such freedom to walk there with my sisters without an accompanying adult. And, oddly, aside from Thanksgiving dishes (& the current popularity of burning dried sage bundles), Scarborough Fair is really my only association with sage! But I would like for that to change so I bought a sage plant at the farmer’s market last week & the silvery leaves inspired this painting. Yesterday I shared a recipe for banana ice cream in my post. Today I’m asking for your favorite ways to use sage, if you do!
