‘Basil’ : Joel loves favorites & is always asking what mine are; “rank your top 5 movies”, “what’s your favorite meal?”, “what’s your favorite whale?” (yes. . . it gets that specific). Picking favorites was a regular pastime for him & his brothers when they were kids so this curiosity is deeply engrained. I appreciate his interest in my preferences but I kind of hate these questions because I just can’t pick one most of the time! Why am I talking about this? Because sometimes I think basil is my favorite herb & then I remember how much I love rosemary. . . I can’t pick between the two— they are both my favorites. And I’ve decided that’s allowed;)

‘Basil’ is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic collection. For 20 days in April I painted & sold an original watercolor for $50 (a fraction of my regular price). At the end of the month I donated 50% of the proceeds to CWS to help with the housing needs of refugees in our community. It was a tremendously joyful & creativite time, despite the uncertainty of the circumstances— all thanks to my collectors & fans who offered their generous support & feedback. Thank you!
