'Radishes' Limited Edition Print
‘Radishes’ : Are they not just so beautiful?? To be honest, I think I started buying them for their looks but then their presence in my kitchen demanded that they be used in some way. That’s when I discovered how spicy & delicious they are raw. They’re also a good substitute for potatoes with a pot roast if you’re watching your carb intake. My favorite use for them lately, though, is as a fresh, crunchy topping for “poke bowls” (quotations because I think, technically, poke bowls have raw tuna but we often do them with shrimp. . . & so do our local restaurants so I guess we’re all appropriating the name for rice bowls of whatever iteration we want. Sorry, Hawaii:).
‘Radishes’ is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic collection. For 20 days in April I painted & sold an original watercolor for $50 (a fraction of my regular price). At the end of the month I donated 50% of the proceeds to CWS to help with the housing needs of refugees in our community. It was a tremendously joyful & creativite time, despite the uncertainty of the circumstances— all thanks to my collectors & fans who offered their generous support & feedback. Thank you!
