'Rosemary' Limited Edition Print
'Rosemary' Limited Edition Print
‘Rosemary’ : I must confess I have rosemary envy. Everyone around here grows it effortlessly into giant bushes that are significant elements of their landscaping. . . like, ones that must be trimmed back before they takeover! Meanwhile, I’ve killed no less than 6 in an attempt to grow one under my dining room window. I concluded a couple years ago that our property stays so wet that the roots won’t dry out and, as my mother in law says, “rosemary likes its feet dry”:) So I potted one and it became root-bound and died. I potted another and didn’t water it enough and it also died. This single sprig is a sign of hope; I bought another rosemary plant at the farmer’s market last week & I have a good feeling about it. . . if nothing else, she’s inspired a painting & that’s enough. But do wish me luck!!
‘Rosemary’ is part of my Painting a Day for Pandemic collection. For 20 days in April I painted & sold an original watercolor for $50 (a fraction of my regular price). At the end of the month I donated 50% of the proceeds to CWS to help with the housing needs of refugees in our community. It was a tremendously joyful & creativite time, despite the uncertainty of the circumstances— all thanks to my collectors & fans who offered their generous support & feedback. Thank you!
